Where to Find Benefits Information
- You can review the information linked below under the New Employee Benefits Packets, based on your hire date.
- Information will also be emailed to your PISD email address within your first week of work.
How to Enroll
- The enrollment portal will be available starting on your official employment start date, and then you have 31 calendar days to enroll in coverage.
- Use our enrollment portal through the Employee Service Center to make your selections, or to waive coverage. For help enrolling online, please refer to the Benefits Enrollment Guide in your benefits packet and watch step-by-step videos in our benefits video library.

- Life insurance enrollments are done separately using a paper application form, which must be returned to the Plano ISD Benefits office within 31 calendar days after your employment start date.
Important Tips
- When does my coverage start? On the 1st of the month after your employment start date. (There is an option to start your medical plan coverage on your hire date, but please call or email us to request this option.)
- Will I receive ID cards? Yes, ID cards will be mailed to your home address, so please make sure the HR department has your most current address! The cards can take up to 2-3 weeks to arrive in the mail, but can be accessed earlier through the insurance companies' websites.
- How are premiums paid? Paycheck schedules vary by job type, which affects how your per paycheck deduction amount is calculated. Click here to learn more about how your premiums are calculated for payroll deductions.
- What if I don't need any coverage? You must still use our enrollment portal to officially decline coverage within your 31-day enrollment window.
