Plano ISD Senior High Schools Capture 2nd and 5th Overall Team Sweepstakes, Individual Titles, at State TFA Championships

The Texas Forensics Association's 2025 State Championship Tournament was held March 6-8 in Katy, Texas.

Out of 180 schools and 1412 students, Plano ISD orators brought home dozens of placements, including multiple state championships. All three senior high school forensics teams brought significant experience and poise to the State tournament, landing multiple competitors in final rounds and medaling against the best orators in Texas forensics. Plano West Senior High School finished 2nd overall in sweepstakes points and Plano East Senior High rounded out the tournament in 5th overall sweepstakes earnings.

The biggest weekend winners included Plano Senior High School’s Sahith Reddy, who captured a double state individual championship by earning 1st place in Informative Speaking and Domestic Extemporaneous Speaking, and Plano West’s Peter Yoon, who became a State Champion in Humorous Interpretation.

State medalists include Plano Senior High’s Esther Jesse (3rd Place) Program Oral Interpretation,Plano West’s Eric Quan (3rd Place) and Katherine Liu (4th) in International Extemporaneous Speaking, Shiloh Wilson & Nicole Lee (6th Place) in Duo Interpretation, Plano East’s Pranav Gorty (3rd Place) and Arya Gurumukhi (4th Place) in Domestic Extemporaneous Speaking, Swathi Parameshwar (6th Place) in Informative Speaking and Tarwat Chowdhury (5th Place) in Impromptu Speaking.

Dozens of students finished as octofinalists, quarterfinalists, and semifinalists in the state championships, representing Plano ISD with pride and excellence. Congratulations to all students, coaches and supporters on an amazing showing at the 2025 TFA State tournament!
