All Non-Curricular Clubs are required to organize annually.
Non-Curricular Clubs are student-initiated and driven. These clubs start over each year due to they are driven by the interest of our current student body.
If you are interested in forming a non-curricular club, please follow the process below.
- Secure a Rice MS teacher to serve as the sponsor.
- With the assistance of the sponsor, complete the Online Club Request Form. Ensure that all email addresses, especially the teacher/sponsor to prevent any delays in the process.
- Once the student submits the online request, the sponsor will complete their portion in myforms.
- The application will progress through the approval process and the teacher/sponsor will be notified once complete.
**Clubs for each new school year cannot begin forming until the first day of school!**

Book Club
Bracelet ClubThis is open for all 6 to 8th graders intersted in making bracelets. Members will use their creativity to make all different types of bracelets from beaded friendship to weaving bracelets.Meeting Time: One Thursday a monthClassroom: 407Sponsor: Ms. Schackman
Coding ClubThe Rice Middle School Coding Club is an initiative created by a group of talented Rice students to share their coding knowledge with their peers in grades 6-8 and help them develop their coding and programming skills. Students will be placed into one of three groups (Beginner Python, Intermediate Python, or Java), with specific student tutors assigned to teach and mentor each group.
Crochet ClubThe Rice Middle School Crochet Club is a place for students to express their creativity through crochet and learn new skills such as patience and organization. Students from all grade levels are invited to attend meetings. The club is intended to provide students with an opportunity to learn and develop skills in crochet while relaxing with peers in a calm environment.Meeting Time: Thursday from 3:45 pm - 4:20 pmClassroom: Band Ensemble Room - 614ASponsor: Ms. Hixson

MSA (Muslim Student Association)MSA meets daily for prayer during student lunch periods and on occasion every Friday at 7:45.
