    Over the weekend, 55 Plano ISD music students qualified for the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) All-State Bands, Choirs, and Orchestras. All-State is the highest honor a Texas music student can receive. 1,830 students are selected through a process that begins with over 70,000 students from around the state vying for this honor to perform in one of 18 ensembles sponsored by the Band, Orchestra, and Vocal Divisions. All-State students participate in three days of rehearsals directed by nationally recognized conductors during the annual state TMEA Clinic/Convention. Their performances before thousands of attendees bring this extraordinary event to a close.

    Congratulations to our outstanding musicians, their high school directors, private instructors, middle school directors, elementary music teachers, supporters and families. 

    The TMEA All-State Concerts will be held at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio on Saturday, February 15. Individual start times can be found here.
